Frailty

This is the movie that many Stephen King novels have aspired to be on the big screen and failed to become. With very little gore and plenty of terror, Bill Paxton directs himself through the story of a extremely religious father (Paxton) who raises his children to believe that the family is destined to rid the world of demons. Matthew McConaughey narrates the story of he and his brother's childhood to an FBI agent (Powers Boothe), who is trying to find a serial killer in Texas. Not playing out any of the potentially gory murders on screen, while still making it strikingly clear they are taking place, adds to the fear factor of the whole story. A number of clever twists keep the plot disturbing and unnervingly believable. There's not much of interest in the extras, but the movie alone makes this DVD worth adding to your collection.
